Anshan Qianshan Scenic Area is a national 5A-level tourist attraction.

Natural Landscape

 

Qianshan Scenic Area is renowned for its picturesque peaks, steep rocks, secluded valleys, peculiar pines, and blooming flowers. Its natural scenery is extremely beautiful, featuring four major natural landscapes: peculiar peaks, grotesque rocks, ancient pines, and pear flowers. Qianshan is composed of nearly a thousand peculiar peaks shaped like lotuses. It is also known as the Thousand-Lotus Mountain, or simply Qianshan, because it is said to have 999 peaks that resemble lotuses stretching towards the sky. The highest peak in Qianshan is Xiarentai, with an altitude of 708.5 meters.

 

Cultural Landscape

 

Qianshan Scenic Area not only boasts picturesque natural scenery but also has a profound religious and historical culture. It is a religious holy site where Buddhism and Taoism coexist. During its heyday, there were more than 40 monasteries and temples, including "Five Great Buddhist Monasteries, Nine Palaces, Eight Taoist Temples, and Twelve Hermit Huts." Currently, 24 of them are open to the public. Qianshan houses the world's largest naturally formed Maitreya Buddha and the world's largest jade Buddha weighing 260.76 tons. The temple music of Qianshan has also been included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.

 

Famous Attractions

 

Qianshan Scenic Area has more than 500 well-known attractions, among which the famous ones include the Five Great Buddhist Monasteries (Xiangyan Temple, Da'an Temple, Zuyue Temple, Zhonghui Temple, and Longquan Temple), Wuliangguan Temple, Tiantianshang Scenic Area, Bainiaoyuan Scenic Area, and Xiarentai. These attractions each have their unique characteristics, some excel in natural scenery, while others excel in cultural landscapes. They are all tourist destinations that visitors should not miss.

 

Honors and Achievements

 

Since its development, Qianshan Scenic Area has won numerous honors and titles, including the first batch of National Key Scenic Spots, National Demonstration Site for Civilized Scenic Tourism Areas, National 5A-level Tourist Attraction, the title of "China's Natural Oxygen Bar" creation area, and the title of "People's Favorite Cultural and Historical Mountain."
