Liuding Mountain 六鼎山

The Dunhua Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Area, located in Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is a comprehensive tourist attraction integrating natural scenery, human history, and religious culture.

Geographic Location

 

The Dunhua Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Area is situated 3 kilometers south of Dunhua City, adjacent to the south bank of the Mudan River. With its strategic location and convenient transportation, it is an ideal destination for tourists seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy tranquility and beautiful scenery.

 

Scenic Area Rating

 

The Dunhua Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Area has been approved as a National AAAAA Tourist Attraction by the National Tourism Administration, becoming the fifth in Jilin Province and the second in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture to receive this honor.

 

Main Attractions

 

  • Great Jin Ding Buddha: The world's tallest outdoor seated bronze statue of Siddhartha Gautama, standing 48 meters tall, with the Mudan River behind it and a view of Mount Changbai in the distance, it exudes a majestic aura.

  • Zhengjue Temple: A world-renowned nun's monastery that integrates Buddhism, Bohai culture, and the culture of the founding ancestors of the Qing Dynasty. It is an important place for tourists to pray and visit.

  • Qing Ancestral Temple: A sacred site for the Manchu people to trace their roots and pay homage to their ancestors. It is solemn and respectful, enshrining ten generations of Qing emperors, and is an important window for understanding Manchu culture.

  • Bohai Tomb Group: The tomb complex of the royal and noble families of the Tang Bohai Kingdom, and also one of the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in China. It provides tourists with an opportunity to explore the historical and cultural heritage of ancient Bohai Kingdom.

The history of the Dunhua Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Area dates back to the Bohai period of the Tang Dynasty. It was the founding capital of the Bohai Kingdom and the birthplace of the Qing royal family. Therefore, it preserves a large number of historical relics and rich cultural connotations. Tourists can feel the legacy of the ancient Bohai Kingdom here and appreciate the unique charm of the Northeast Buddhist Zen holy site.

The scenic area regularly holds various special activities, such as the Manchu Culture Festival, through forms such as Manchu yangko dance, Manchu cheongsam shows, and Manchu sacrificial rituals, allowing tourists to gain a close understanding of the characteristics and essence of Manchu culture.
