Sounding Sand Bay 响沙湾

In 2011, Xiangshawan Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAAA scenic area by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China.

In 2018, at the China Yellow River Tourism Conference, Xiangshawan was named one of the "Top 50 Scenic Spots along the Yellow River in China," further proving its unique natural and cultural value.

Scenic Area Features

  • Desert Landscapes: Xiangshawan's desert covers an area of about 16,100 square kilometers, with a total operating area of 60 square kilometers for the scenic area. The sand dunes reach a height of 110 meters and a width of 400 meters, forming a huge沙丘echo wall with a terrain distributed in a crescent shape at a 45-degree angle slope. The sand here is delicate and soft, undulating like waves, making it an excellent place to experience desert scenery and engage in desert exploration.

  • Singing Sand Miracle: Xiangshawan is named after "the sand here sings." When the sand is dry, sliding down from the top of the dunes or scooping up sand will produce sounds. These sounds can range from light ones resembling frogs croaking to loud ones like cars or airplanes roaring, which is very spectacular.

  • Diverse Cultures: Within the scenic area, in addition to desert landscapes and the singing sand miracle, there are also diverse landscapes such as sand dunes, sand lakes, sandy oases, and Mongolian customs. Visitors can experience activities such as cable cars, horse riding, camel riding, bonfire parties, as well as cultural events like the "Erdos Wedding," desert cultural costume performances, and desert photography.
